Secret Recipe is a piece for flute choir meant for flutists of all ability levels to enjoy. Nothing brings people together like preparing delicious food, sharing cultural dishes, and learning each others’ languages. Secret Recipe draws inspiration from the sounds created in the kitchen. Flutists will explore a wide variety of extended techniques including flutter tonguing, beatboxing, and trilling while creating percussive effects with finger snaps, foot stomps, and occasional kitchen tool utilization. Find common phrases said before mealtimes in different languages and cultures sprinkled throughout the piece as spoken interjections.
